The agitating group concluded that the negotiation committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to resolve the dispute in the Pathibhara area could not resolve the issue.

Since this is a political matter, they demand that a committee should be formed at the political level and not from the employees. Their complaint is that the government has not created even the minimum environment for negotiations.

'We have taken the initiative taken by the federal government positively,' said Prem Ekten, the central president of Kirat Yakthum Chumlung, 'the negotiation committee should have come under the political label, an employee came under the label, the problem cannot be solved by the federal government.' He said that they took the initiative positively. The protesting group has demanded the release of three activists including Pradeep Maden, who were arrested in Taplejung, and that the cable car construction work should be stopped . "The activists of Taplejung are not going to leave, there is news that eight people who were arrested in Damak yesterday (Sunday) have also been taken to Chandragarhi for an extension," he said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a negotiation committee on Sunday with representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Urban Development. The name of the representative of that ministry has not been mentioned.

The agitating group has stopped the traffic in nine districts of Koshi, Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum. Today, even until Monday, the demand has not been addressed and they have announced a general strike in all nine districts from Tuesday (tomorrow).

On January 12, there was a clash between police and protestors in Baludanda of Pathibhara area. Shots were fired during the clash. Five people, including two of the protesting group, and 21 security personnel were injured in the shooting.
