Nepali Congress leader and member of the House of Representatives Sita Gurung has said that the government should find a solution through dialogue and consensus in the dispute over the construction of a cable car in the Pathibhara temple area of Taplejung.
He emphasized that the government should immediately form a negotiation committee and take the initiative for negotiations and stakeholders should find a solution through dialogue and consensus.
Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta met at the ministry on Sunday and pointed out that the dispute over the construction of cable cars, the state seizure and the general strike for a few days have affected the life of the people of eastern Nepal and called attention to take immediate steps to resolve it.
When the construction company started work on January 12th, there was a clash between the protestors and the police. The injured in the clash are still being treated at the hospital.
The agitating party has announced a general strike in 9 districts of Arun east from Sunday, demanding that the state arrest should be stopped immediately and the construction of the cable car should be stopped. Gurung, an MP elected from the affected area, Tehrathum, said that the government should be serious about the issue of cable car construction taking such a big shape.
'There will be a position that the cable car should be built and a side that should not be built . The government should try to find a solution through dialogue and dialogue,' Gurung said, drawing the attention of Minister Gupta, 'but the problem is being resolved due to the fact that the cable car construction issue is increasing disputes, clashes, and continuous arrests from the state . Local leaders and stakeholders who came to the ministry along with MP Gurung also emphasized that the government should negotiate with both parties and find a way out. In reply, Minister Gupta said that he is taking initiatives to create an atmosphere of dialogue about it.
On Sunday, local stakeholders, including MP Gurung, visited the injured who were being treated at the Tertiary Teaching Hospital and wished them good health.
