15 people, including three Nepalis, died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. The workers were killed when a van and a trailer collided with each other near the Aramco Refinery Road in Jizan in the western region of Saudi Arabia on Monday.

According to the office of the Nepali Consul General in Jeddah, Krishna Khatri of Palpa, Rupak Karki of Udaipur and Man Bahadur Rana of Kapilvastu died in the accident. 9 citizens of India and 3 citizens of Ghana died in the accident.

According to Saudi Red Crescent spokesman Ahmed Asiri, 11 seriously injured people are being treated at Jizan and Abha hospitals. Among the injured, Suk Bahadur Limbu from Elam is in critical condition. He is being treated at Bais Hospital in Jizan. 

 Workers working on the Aramco project in Jijan through the Consolidated Industrial Cleaning Services Corporation (ACIC) have met with an accident. Saudi authorities have launched an investigation into driver negligence, vehicle safety standards and road conditions, Saudi media reported.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Saudi Arabia has the highest number of road accident deaths among the Gulf region. Saudi Arabia has been saying that road safety standards have been improved and implemented to reduce road accidents.
