Senior Vice President of Maoist Center and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said that now the party will be powerful by transforming and reorganizing it and fighting alone in the upcoming elections.
Leader Shrestha, who came on Saturday to inaugurate the third session of the Arghakhanchi Bhumikasthan City Committee, said that the Maoist leaders and the party should come clean. "In 2064, we were a great power, now we are weak in power," Shrestha said, "Our character, conduct and behavior were clean yesterday, we had a strong relationship with the people, we were steadfast in our policy ideas and principles, that's why we became the first power." Now we have to reach the people by transforming and reorganizing the party.'
He appealed to the workers to reach out to the people saying that since the Maoist party is the driver of change, it is the Maoist party that will protect democracy and social economic transformation.
'Now we will fight the elections alone after transforming and reorganizing the party,' he said, 'You should transform into workers and reach every house, reach every committee, be active. Put it at the center of the campaign of party building, be determined to mobilize the people.''
He claims that the party workers are excited at the moment. "Maoist is the only party that reaches out to the people and corrects our weaknesses," he said, "only we can do to save this country." While I was here, my program for Palpa, Siraha, Dadeldhura, Okhaldhunga was made. The country is in chaos, the party is full of enthusiasm, the people are attracted. Workers should be determined. Let's be united.'' He asked the workers who are preparing for street struggle if necessary.
He has accused the current government of bypassing the House and taking the path of autocracy through ordinances and protecting corrupt people close to him. He said that because the government has failed in the campaign to maintain good governance, there has been frustration and anger among the people.
