Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is the need of the day to guarantee the money of those who deposit money in cooperatives. Chairman Deuba said this while addressing the program held at the party central office on Saturday.

He said that it is necessary to put an end to various distortions and anomalies that have appeared in the cooperative sector in the current situation. He said that for the development and expansion of the real cooperative movement, the party is committed that all cooperatives should operate according to the common principles, values, recognition and principles of cooperatives. Chairman Deuba said, "The party is committed to ending the various distortions and anomalies that have appeared in the cooperative sector in the current situation, and for the development and expansion of the real cooperative movement, all cooperatives should operate according to the universal basis, values, beliefs and principles of cooperatives."

He said that savers are suffering when the cooperative owners are misappropriating and misusing the lakhs of funds that ordinary citizens have put into cooperatives through hardships and hard work. He said that the government brought the Ordinance realizing that timely Cooperative Friendship Act and rules should be arranged. He expressed his belief that the qualitative improvement in the cooperative movement will have a positive effect on the overall economy.

He said, 'Millions of savers who have been accumulated in cooperatives by the ordinary citizens through great suffering and hard work have become victims of cooperatives. In the case of misappropriation and misappropriation of that amount by the cooperative operators, there should be a guarantee of the savings of the savers and that is the need today. He believes that due to cooperatives, the self-reliance of the community, the eradication of poverty, and the institutionalization of democratic socialism will take place. For this, the government has brought an ordinance realizing the need to provide timely cooperative friendship laws and regulations. A qualitative improvement in the cooperative movement has a positive effect on the economy as a whole.

President Deuba said that the Nepali Congress is trying to expand the cooperative movement as a campaign to raise the living standards of different sections of the society in accordance with the meaning and spirit of cooperatives.
