Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, attended all the meetings of the Assembly and expressed his belief that all levels will play an important role in raising the expectations of the people towards the National Assembly to a higher level.
Welcoming the members at the beginning of the 17th session of the National Assembly, which started today, Chairman Dahal urged them to be self-disciplined and self-regulating in order to run the work of the assembly and committees in an orderly manner.
Chairman Dahal said, 'I hope and believe that this meeting will play an important role in bringing it to a higher level.' He informed that out of the 65 bills registered in the National Assembly so far, 34 bills have been verified, 12 bills have been withdrawn by the government, five bills have become inactive and seven bills out of the 14 pending bills have been sent to the House of Representatives with a message.
'Three bills have been registered in this session, three bills have been passed by the Legislation Management Committee and are in the process of submitting a report to the Assembly, one bill is in the final stage of discussion in the Legislation Management Committee,' said Chairman Dahal.
After the end of the sixteenth session, 38 meetings of the Legislative Management Committee have been completed and the committee has passed the Media Council Bill, 2080 and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill, 2081 and submitted the report. It is ready. Also, the Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 is being discussed on a quarterly basis.
