Nepali Congress General Minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that the bill proposed by the government to curtail freedom of expression will be unacceptable. General Minister Sharma expressed this view after the government brought a bill to curtail the constitutional right to freedom of expression in the name of social justice.
He has asked to be assured that the proposed issues in the bill brought by the current government cannot be accepted and that bill will be changed. Sharma, who was the spokesperson of the party at that time, protested by releasing a statement about it. When the Congress-UML coalition government was in power, the same nature of the bill was brought forward by the government and questions were raised about him.
Chief Minister Sharma has said that the Bill will be passed only after a serious discussion in the Parliament. 'The vision carried while being a spokesperson, does not change when the Chief Minister. Let the country rest assured - the vision will not change, the bill will change,' he said through social media, 'in order to make the social media fair, it is necessary to have a deep dialogue between the government-opposition, other parties, stakeholders and citizens. The bill is totally unacceptable to the extent that it curtails freedom of expression.'
