Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has presented an action plan on health insurance reform to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Health Minister Paudel submitted the report prepared under the leadership of Additional Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Dipendraraman Singh, along with the action plan to the Prime Minister today.

  According to the Secretariat of Minister Poudel, a decision will be made regarding health insurance reform through the Cabinet meeting based on the

action plan. Health Minister Paudel has been saying that he is preparing to improve health insurance and increase it to five lakh rupees. The report submitted to the Prime Minister also includes the basis for increasing the health insurance amount up to five lakh rupees.

If the decision is taken by the Council of Ministers, the Ministry is preparing to proceed with the process of amending the Health Insurance Act through the next session of the Parliament.
