The schedule of the winter session of the Federal Parliament, which will start from January 18, has been prepared. The meeting with the chief whips and whips of the major political parties held today at Singhdarbar under the chairmanship of Speaker Devraj Ghimire has prepared the work schedule for the whole month of January.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mahesh Bertaula, the chief whip of the ruling party CPN (UML), informed that the agenda has been drawn up under the winter session of the Parliament. According to him, at the beginning of the first day of the Parliament, the schedule of speeches by the Prime Minister and the top leaders of the party has been fixed. On the same day, various ordinances brought by the government will be submitted to the parliament.
'The Prime Minister will address the first day of the Parliament meeting. After that, the initial agenda to be addressed by the top leaders of all political parties, including the leaders of the opposition parties, has been fixed,' said Chief Whip Bertaula. Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Shyam Kumar Ghimire said that the agenda of the meeting of the Parliament for the month of January has been prepared and it has been agreed to proceed accordingly.
In subsequent meetings, the ordinances submitted to the Parliament will be presented for decision. The agenda prepared by today's meeting will be approved by the working arrangement consultation committee meeting on Tuesday.
Chief Whip Bertaula informed that there is an agreement between the ruling party and the main opposition party to pass important bills and existing laws to make the upcoming session effective. He expressed his commitment to increase the efficiency of the parliament and make it creative and active. CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey and Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASP) Whip Nisha Dangi also participated in the meeting.
