Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has been released on bail of Rs 1 crore in the Rupandehi district court in the case of cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.

According to Tehsildar Kumar Khatiwada of District Court Rupandehi, Lamichhane has paid a bank bond of Rs 1 crore. He said, "Defendant Ravi Lamichhane has released 1 crore rupees by paying the bank guarantee."

After the argument of the defendant's lawyer, the defense attorney and the public prosecutor's counter argument, District Court Rupandehi Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi ordered a bail of 1 crore rupees.

Lamichhane, who was arrested on November 2 in connection with the investigation of Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud in Pokhara, was released by the Kaski District Court on Jan. 25 on a bond of 6.5 million and Swarnalakshmi was released on Jan. 2 on a bond of 6.6 million by the order of Kathmandu District Court in the case of Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud.
