In the case filed against Ravi Lamichhane, the then managing director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd., for the crime of fraud and organized crime of the Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative of Butwal, the custody hearing in the Rupandehi District Court, which has been ongoing since Wednesday, did not end on Friday.

During Friday's hearing, the plaintiff and the plaintiff's lawyer raised questions about Lamichhane being released to the family's custody before the hearing. Thunchek argued that the judge's mentality about the case is not meaningful.

They asked Judge Prahlad Kumar Yogi to leave the bench. After Judge Yogi rejected the pleas of the plaintiff and the prosecutor, the argument started behind closed doors.

Senior Advocate Surendra Bhandari, Advocates RC Gautam and Shailendra Kumar Yadav argued on behalf of Zaherwala. Gautam demanded that Lamichhane should be kept in prison, saying that he was directly involved in misappropriation of funds. Advocate Gautam claimed that 2 million rupees went from the cooperative in the name of Lamichhane and he himself cut a check and paid for the installments of 4 million 92 thousand of the cooperative, which confirmed his involvement in the cooperative fraud.

Senior Advocate Sushil Pant, Advocates Surendra Thapa and Sanjay Gole argued on behalf of the defendant. All the three of them argued against the facts in the charge sheet and insisted that Lamichhane should not be prosecuted for cooperative fraud and organized crime. Since Lamichhane was not responsible for protecting the funds of the cooperative, only the directors would be defendants in the case, but because Lamichhane was made a defendant, the process of the case was wrong.

Ms. Nikita Paudel and lawyer Yagyamurti Gyawali said that Lamichhane will be present on Sunday.

'The arguments of 8 lawyers, including senior advocate Raman Shrestha, on behalf of the defendant are still pending, so the family and lawyers have been entrusted with the continuation of the previous order to bring the defendant Lamichhane to appear on Sunday,' he said. '

Lamichhane's case was debated on Thursday by High Public Prosecutor's Office Butwal Chief Associate Advocate Shobkant Bhandari, Prakash Marasini, Ravi Neupane and District Public Prosecutor's Office Chief Advocate Premraj Paudel, Gokarnaraj Marasini, Vasant Pokharel, Sunil Budhathoki and Pavitra Bhandari. Similarly, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi argued on behalf of the victim Zaherwala.

A case was registered against Lamichhane on January 6 in the District Court for cooperative fraud and organized crime. He appeared in court to plead the case on Wednesday. On Wednesday, Rupandehi District Court Judge Yogi's bench was closed.

Lamichhane, during his statement on Wednesday, requested that he be able to sit with his family and defend the case. After Judge Yogi accepted his plea, he stayed in the hotel and attended the custody debate on Thursday and Friday.

Lamichhane, who was arrested on November 2 in connection with the investigation of Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud in Pokhara, was released by the Kaski District Court on Jan. 25 on a bond of 6.5 million and Swarnalakshmi was released on Jan. 2 on a bond of 6.6 million by the order of Kathmandu District Court in the case of Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud.

On Sunday, January 6, a case was registered in the Rupandehi District Court, accusing 22 people, including Lamichhane, of Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime. In the case, more than 55 crores have been claimed from 28 people including Geetendrababu (GB) Rai, Lamichhane and 100.99 million bigo from Lamichhane, Chabilal Joshi and Lakshmi Prasad Paudel and 20 million bigo from Lamichhane personally.
