Arraignment has started in the district court in the case filed against the then Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ravi Lamichhane for the crime of fraud and organized crime of the Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative of Butwal. On the first day, on Thursday, there was a debate on behalf of the government side and Jaherwala. Both parties have questioned the fact that the court left the defendant Lamichhane on bail without further discussion.

On behalf of Jaherwala, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, lawyers from district and high government prosecutors' offices raised questions about the judge who released the case on Wednesday before the pre-custody arguments.

Lamichhane appeared in court on Wednesday to respond to the cooperative fraud and organized crime case filed on behalf of the government on Sunday. His case was placed before Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogika in Bench No. 5. After the statement on Wednesday, Judge Yogi ordered Lamichhane to be released to his wife Nikita Poudel and her lawyer. The same order was questioned on Thursday.

District Attorney Premraj Paudel claimed that after the accused who appeared in the court was left in the custody of the family without a debate, there is no longer any meaning in the custody debate. He said, 'After the husband left the defendant in charge of the family, the mentality of what will be ordered has been seen. Therefore, it is better if the husband does not look into this case.''

Zaherwala's senior advocate Tripathi also raised the same issue. He said that Judge Yogi should take 'recusal' (retreat) in the case of cooperative fraud and organized crime. The lawyer for the defendant insisted that 'recusal' was not necessary.

After Judge Yogi announced that he would not withdraw from the case, the debate started behind closed doors. During the debate, senior advocate Tripathi claimed that it was proved that Gorkha media was opened to cheat people's money. "There is evidence that about 110 million was taken to Gorkha Media including 20 million in the personal name of the defendant Lamichhane. It was seen that Gorkha Media was opened with the intention of cheating the cooperative," he said in the debate. Is the purpose of deceiving the cooperative, reporting the illegal money to the police or buying shares?'

Tripathi's claims in the debate are mentioned as facts and evidence in the charge sheet prepared by the public prosecutor. "It appears that a loan of 2 crores was accepted from Supreme Cooperative in the name of Ravi Lamichhane and 4 lakhs was deducted as service fee and 19.6 crores was deposited in the Global IME Bank account of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. in the name of Roshni Gurung and Ravi Lamichhane," it is stated in the charge sheet. The director and managing director of the company in setting up a company by misappropriating the cooperative's savings under his own instructions with Rai's group. It appears that Lamichhane took a loan of 1 crore from Suryadarshan Savings and Loan Cooperative and deposited it in the account of Global IME Bank. In the indictment, the facts and criminal procedures of establishing and operating Gorkha Media by embezzling the cooperative's savings with Rai were established. mentioned.

Advocate Ganeshraj Ghimire, Basantraj Pokharel, Sunil Lamichhane, Pavitra Bhandari, Associate Advocate of the High Public Prosecutor's Office Sobhakanta Bhandari, Deputy Advocate Prakash Marasini and Ravi Neupane debated on behalf of the public prosecutor. They claimed that Lamichhane was involved in taking the funds of the cooperative to Gorkha Media by keeping a fake address.

Surendra Bhandari also argued on behalf of Zaherwala. After the discussion after the arrest, the team including Vijay Kumar Nepal, the coordinator of the Supreme Cooperative Sufferers' Struggle Committee, demanded to keep Lamichhane in judicial custody. However, Judge Yogi replied that there was no need for the defendant to run away immediately and to delete the evidence.

District Court Srestedar Yagyamurthy Gyawali informed that since the arguments of the lawyers of Zaherwala 2 and all the defendants are pending, the arguments will be continued on Friday. In the case of Lamichhane, he said that the order on Wednesday to leave him in charge of the family was continued. "The case has been kept under observation, so there will be a closed debate on Friday," he said.
