After questions were raised by the leaders, the Maoist leadership has withdrawn from the preparations to make former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun the Vice President. President Pushpa Kamal Dahal was preparing to nominate Pun as the vice president who started participating in the office bearer meeting.

But Dahal kept the nomination after the argument came from within the party that his nomination would be against the law and a person who has already been vice president would send a wrong message when he joins party politics.

In a recent standing committee meeting, Senior Vice President Narayankaji Shrestha said that it would be wrong for a person who has reached a respected position to enter active politics.

"It is not only within the party, it is a matter of national rank and prestige," he said. In the meeting, Anjana Vishankhe also raised questions regarding the former vice president's return to party politics. In the subsequent central committee meeting, leaders including Sudan Kirati, Indra Angbo, Lekhnath Neupane, Kul Prasad Samba said that it would be appropriate for the former vice president to remain in a dignified state. They were of the opinion that former Vice President Pun should not be nominated in violation of the party constitution.

Former Vice President Pun had told close leaders that he wanted to actively contribute to the party. "I am trying to be active with the aim of contributing something to the system that was brought by fighting rather than taking a position," he said. Dahal also mentioned that despite being the vice president, there is no legal restriction to enter politics again. Dahal said that the meeting was called according to Pun's desire to be active in the party.

An official of the Maoist party said that preparations to nominate former vice president Pun as vice president have been postponed. There were preparations to nominate him as vice president. It has been postponed after a question was raised within the party," said the official.

Indra Angbo, a member of the Central Committee of the Maoists, said that the person who has become the President and Vice President should stay above the circle of questions. "It is not appropriate for a person who has become president or vice president to enter politics," he said He said he could. "Anyone should be elected in the democratic system inside and outside the party," Angbo said. "What happens if the person who reaches that position is defeated?" , may have to play a losing game. It is not good for a person who has become respectable to engage in mud-slinging.

Maoist Secretary Ram Karki said that a person who is active in politics and who remains beyond criticism whether or not he is in the position of President or Vice President should be ready to bear anything. When they are president and vice-president, they remain beyond criticism. There is an ideological battle in the party. There are groups. Allegation/counter-allegation follows. When you come to politics, you have to accept all these," he said. "You should also be ready to be a candidate for village president." But political analysts say that when a person who has reached the highest position of the state is active in a particular party again, the question of the person's morality and responsibility will be raised.
