There will be a tripartite competition to take the leadership of Akhil (Revolutionary), a student organization of the Maoist center. Aspirants to take the leadership of the organization registered their nominations on Tuesday.
Although the office bearers meeting of the Maoist center tried to agree on the selection of student leadership, the decision was not reached due to the large number of competing leaders. Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that it would be better to agree "as long as possible", but other leaders said that they should be open for competition. Roshan Thapa Magar, Govind Baniyan and Padam Kafle have registered their nomination papers for the General Secretary. Elections for leadership will be held on January 12.
