A case has been registered in the Rupandehi District Court on Sunday against 22 people, including the then Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network, Ravi Lamichhane, on the charge of defrauding the savings of Supreme Cooperative. The public prosecutor's office filed new charges against 14 people and supplementary charges against 8 people. In the indictment, 55 crore 59 lakh 83 thousand rupees has been demanded against 22 people. Lamichhane has also claimed 2 crores personally.

After additional investigation by the police, the District Public Prosecutor's Office has registered a case against Lamichhane for cooperative fraud and organized crime with almost a dozen facts and evidence.

Earlier on last Baisakh 3, a case was filed against 28 people for misappropriation of Supreme's savings and 861.8 million 23 thousand 754 rupees. At that time, Lamichhane was the Home Minister. Because he was the Home Minister, the police had "given immunity without investigation" against him.

• Lamichhane sold the shares of Gorkha Media and separated from June 1, 2079. On various dates, Lamichhane paid 7180 thousand 499 checks to different people by cutting the company's checks, and also cut 985 thousand 749 checks in his own name and signed the checks. His intention to embezzle the amount is clear from what is seen. In the action, it is confirmed that the defendant Gitendrababu Rai mobilized the president of the cooperative Omprakash Gurung and the manager Sagar KC and forced them to keep their identities secret and embezzled the savings in an organized manner 
• It seems that Lamichhane has committed an offense defined by the Organized Crime Prevention Act 2070 as it appears that the funds of the cooperative have been embezzled and embezzled by the criminal group who embezzled the savings of the cooperative organization in an illegal manner 
• Defendant Lamichhane, as the officer and managing director of the organized organization along with the organized group, has been found to have illegally held the company's shares by embezzling the savings of the cooperative, and his involvement in the cooperative fraud is confirmed. 
• In the name of the defendant, a loan of 2 million was accepted from Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative Society Limited and 19.6 million was deposited in the account of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. As he will be equally responsible for any criminal offense or mistake committed during his tenure out of the amount of 99.99 lakh 36 thousand rupees that went to Gorkha Media Network. According to the same, there is a collective liability of 83.6 million 6000 and the same bug has been revealed.
• Lamichhane was dragged into the scope of investigation only after he was removed from the Home Ministership. After 44 people filed a supplementary complaint against Lamichhane and others on October 5, the police started the investigation. Lamichhane was taken to Rupandehi while he was in custody of the Kaski police after being arrested on October 2 due to the supplementary complaint. 

Lamichhane has admitted in his statement that he is the executive of Gorkha Media Network and should be held responsible for the money that went to Gorkha Media contrary to the Cooperative Act 2074. "It seems that Lamichhane should take collective responsibility of 10 million 99 million 36 thousand, including 1 million 96 million that went to the Gorkha media network after being embezzled from the cooperative," it is said in the indictment. 

Lamichhane has also been demanded a prison sentence of up to 13 years. "According to Section 124 of Section 124 of the Cooperative Act 2074, 6 to 8 years of imprisonment and an additional 5 years of imprisonment according to Section 9 of the Organized Crime Prevention Act 2070," it is mentioned in the indictment.

Gorkha Media Network president Gitendrababu (GB) Rai has claimed Rs 51 crore 1 lakh 83 thousand and the then vice president Chabilal Joshi Rs 6 crore 79 lakh 36 thousand bigos. 14 people including Lamichhane and Joshi have been charged with fraud and misappropriation of co-operative funds. 8 others have been charged in the supplementary prosecution. Out of the 42 people in the original case, 17 people have also been charged with misdemeanors and misdemeanors.

District Court Rupandehi Information Officer Anantaraj Marasini informed that a case has been registered against 22 people including Lamichhane, Joshi for cooperative fraud and organized crime and 17 people including GB Rai have been registered with additional crimes and misdemeanors.

'A case has been registered against 42 defendants involved in the embezzlement of Supreme Cooperative's funds with supplementary charges,' he said. The Public Prosecutor's Office has charged Dinesh Roka, who is the owner of Supreme Cooperative, with co-operative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.

The public prosecutor's office took the case against 17 people to court on Thursday. The supplementary prosecution including Lamichhane was sent to the court only on Sunday. The additional indictment file was received by the court from Thursday to Sunday, and the supplementary indictment file was received and registered within three hours. Earlier, the court did not register the case because of the delay in the return of the original case file from the Supreme Court and not being able to deal with it.
