Supreme Cooperative Fraud Case: Case registered against Ravi and Chibi in Rupandehi

A case has been registered in Rupandehi court against 42 people including Ravi Lamichhane and Chabilal Joshi, including 14 of the supplementary charge and 28 of the initial case, related to the embezzlement of Supreme Cooperative funds.

A supplementary prosecution was registered on Sunday against Ravi, Chabhi and Lakshmi Paudel for the crime of cooperative fraud and organized crime, demanding a sum of Rs. The case against 17 people with additional crimes and misdemeanors was taken to the court on Thursday. The additional prosecution including Ravi Lamichhane was sent to the court only on Sunday. The court received the additional charge file from Thursday to Sunday, and the additional charge file was received and registered within three hours. Earlier, the court did not register both the cases because the file of the original case was delayed from the Supreme Court and could not be connected with it. 

Earlier, a case was registered in Rupandehi court on 3rd May 2081 related to Supreme Cooperative fraud . On Thursday, the public prosecutor's office demanded 1.3 billion bigos from 28 defendants in the initial case. However, now the public prosecutor's office has claimed Rs 100 million 19 lakh 36 thousand for Ravi and Chabhi, and Rs 51 crore 1 lakh 83 thousand 842 for Gitendrababu Rai.

Based on the complaint of 1 thousand 872 people of Supreme Cooperative, the police had recommended to the public prosecutor's office to conduct additional investigation and prosecution. Research has shown that 10,391 savers of Supreme Cooperative have embezzled 1.31 billion.
