During the service expansion of the Lumbini Regional Hospital, a women's and obstetric surgery room has been added. According to the hospital, three surgical classes have been added since Friday by expanding the maternity services.
As the number of women coming for maternity services increased, pregnant women had to wait for surgery.
Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya while inaugurating the additional surgery room said that the expanded surgery room will speed up the treatment service and end the situation of having to wait for the turn. "The situation where pregnant women have to wait for obstetric surgery will end now," he said, "it will also improve service delivery." According to Ajayman Shrestha, chairman of the hospital development committee, 9,000 women have received surgical services from the hospital every year. In the hospital last financial year 2080/081 Only 9 thousand 765 people took surgery service. Out of which, 4,547 surgeries were for maternity services, he said.
In the last fiscal year, out of 12,098 people, 7,548 people gave birth normally. There is a record of 4,550 people giving birth through surgery. In the last financial year, 348 thousand 971 people received health services from the hospital. Indra Dhakal said.
