The seven opposition parties have accused the government of trying to impose autocratic rule on the people through ordinances by bypassing the parliament. They have also demanded to convene the regular winter session of the Federal Parliament immediately.

The opposition parties held a meeting in Singhdabar on Friday and objected to the government's work of issuing laws of a serious nature through an ordinance without calling the parliament session.

It is our opinion that the trend of abusing state agencies to maintain the government, circumventing parliament and making political decisions and operations in a biased manner will ultimately bring a crisis to democracy and the rule of law. And for the vested interests of the ruling coalition parties, the parliament is being circumvented and the laws that will seriously affect the long-term future of the nation are being passed through ordinances. In a statement issued jointly by the leaders of Maoist, Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Rashtriya Janamorcha, Aam Janata Party and Nepal Samajwadi Party (Mahendra Rai Yadav), the government has started the process of convening the winter session immediately. If not, it is mentioned that a special session will be demanded. The 7 parties have also warned that arbitrary and anti-people work by the government will continue in the struggle.

Even after 6 months of the formation of the coalition government, they have accused that it has not been able to work according to the people's expectations, has promoted inflation and corruption, has not been able to maintain a balance in international relations and has tried to impose an autocratic rule on the people through ordinances by circumventing the parliament. They are also accused of obstructing the anti-corruption campaign of the coalition government and wrongly interfering in the state machinery.

'Due to the despotic activities of the government, which are against the interests of the country and the people, there is an extreme frustration towards the state and the government among the common people. The government has completely blocked the anti-corruption campaign. Protected the corrupt. Corruption has increased," the statement said, "Giribandhu Tea State, fake Bhutanese refugee case, children's temple and scout's land, etc., have been closed. It is happening to give immunity to leaders and workers who are involved in corruption of the ruling party under this or that pretext.

The opposition parties have claimed that the economy which was improving during the previous government's time is now heading towards problems. "The economic indicators have not been positive because the economic sector is not functioning," they said, "There is extreme interference and politicization in universities, institutes and bureaucracy." The mechanisms of the government have been operated in the interest of a few limited groups.'

The opposition parties have also alleged that the investigation and prosecution process has been carried out in a vindictive and biased manner against the opposition, with extreme politicization of the law through the home administration and the attorney general's office. "When there is a lot of opposition from the public to the many anti-people actions that the government has been carrying out under the pretense of majority, it is clear that the ruling coalition has lost the moral basis of running the government because it cannot defend it in the parliament and has to rely on ordinances," the statement said.

The opposition parties have objected that the investigation of the missing citizens related to the rest of the peace process and the process of establishing the truth and reconciliation commission has been blocked. They have drawn the attention of the government to bring the peace process forward and give justice to the victims.

Dahal asked for resignation

Chairman of Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the Congress-UML coalition government should resign on the basis of morality. He has claimed that the work of the coalition government has increased the frustration.

At the press conference of the opposition party held at Parliament House New Baneshwar on Friday, Dahal commented that the Congress-UML coalition government is unnatural. He said that the opposition parties are standing together to oppose the wrong actions of the government. "The opposition party has protested with serious concern about the state of the country," he said, "if necessary, we will be forced to go to the street struggle."

'There is no strength in the accusations of the opposition parties'

The opposition parties have accused the government of trying to rule by ordinance, right?

Government is trying to impose autocratic rule by ordinance: Opposition

The government has introduced indispensable ordinances to create a reliable base for good governance, rapid economic development and investment in the country. According to the provisions of the constitution, by bringing ordinances, it is tried to do the work of the people at a fast pace. There is no reason to panic.

Why did you rush to bring an ordinance instead of passing a bill in the parliament?

The government is trying to work effectively. It is not trying to deceive the House. It is important to understand that the opposition party also submits the ordinance to the parliament and passes it. These ordinances are passed by Parliament.

The opposition is alleging that the economic condition of the country has become weaker, isn't it?

How was the economy during the previous government? Where has it come from now? Looking at the data, everything is clear. We are working effectively to improve the country's capital expenditure, increase revenue and end the deficit in the budget. Therefore, the accusations of the opposition party are not valid. The economy index is improving.

Why is there a delay in convening the winter session?

The government is preparing a bill to be submitted in the upcoming parliament session. A regular session is called at the appropriate time.
