Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has given instructions to the minister representing the party to make the work of the government effective.
Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia informed that in the meeting with party officials and ministers participating in the government held today at his residence in Budanilkanth, Speaker Deuba instructed to provide services in a smooth and effective manner in matters related to the people.
'Let's make service delivery agile, transparent and effective in matters related to the people,' Minister Chaurasia said, quoting Chairman Deuba's statement, 'Let's prioritize the work of the ministry over the work of the party by managing time properly.'
Congress president Deuba also requested the ministers to provide necessary support to make the government more effective. The meeting was attended by party vice-chairmen, general ministers, leaders, chief whips of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
Chairman Deuba gave information about the ongoing work and remaining work with the Minister of the Ministry of Relations. He also directed the ministers to decide where the laws under the relevant ministries have reached and where they are stuck before the start of the parliament session.
According to Congress Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Shyam Prasad Ghimire, in today's meeting, it was decided to work actively and discuss important issues regularly to make the government effective and successful. He said that matters such as working actively to finalize the bill under consideration in various committees, speeding up the process of completing physical projects and other programs under the jurisdiction of their respective ministries were discussed.
The Chief Whip Ghimire said that it has been decided to take the necessary initiative to complete/make the development projects which are still waiting for resource assurance despite being in the budget of the current financial year, which could not be called for bids, and which are not working at the expected speed after the construction has started.
It has been decided to hold open meetings on two specific days a week, listen to citizens' complaints, take suggestions and the remaining five days to focus entirely on the work of the ministry, and it has been decided to coordinate the interests, suggestions and expectations of MPs through discussion by the parliamentary party working committee and ministers.
President Deuba has also instructed to reach the party central office once a month regarding the suggestions and demands of the citizens who come to the party central office through the party's state committee, district, region and local levels.
10 ministers and two state ministers are participating in the current government led by CPN (UML) President KP Sharma Oli. In the meeting, the ministers informed Chairman Deuba about the work of their respective ministries, the problems and complaints of IPER.
