incident is on Friday, January 26. This incident was made public after Minister Khadka told a meeting of ministers participating in the government from the Congress on Thursday (January 3) at the residence of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkanth. According to a minister who participated in the
meeting, Khadka raised the issue of security while speaking. Minister Khadka said in the meeting, 'Last Friday, a person abused me in the ministry. A man of Pokharel surname from Gorkha abused me inside the ministry.'
Then, why didn't the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar inform him about the matter ? He asked Khadka. When asked by the writer, Minister Khadka replied that 'it was not reported because the incident was normal'. The Home Minister wrote that why did the Minister hide the incident that happened to him for almost a week? Another minister who participated in the meeting said.
Khadka said that he did not know the name of the person who attacked in that way and told Kantipur that he was a candidate in the last election in Gorkha and that he was of Pokharel surname.
According to the police sources assigned to the security of Singha Durbar, the person who assaulted Minister Khadka is Hari Pokharel of Ajirkot Rural Municipality-5, Muchok, Gorkha.
Pokharel was a candidate for Gandaki Provincial Assembly member from Gorkha in the 2079 election. According to the details of the Election Commission, he was an independent candidate in the state assembly election from constituency 2(2) of Gorkha.
He entered the Singha Darbar carrying the card of Nepal Television
Pokharel was seen entering the Singha Darbar carrying the card of Nepal Television, the police informed. The type of card recovered from him by the police says 'Producer - Public Speaker Nepal'.
Pokharel was arrested by the police and handed over to Singhdarbar circle. However, later on the 'order' of Minister Khadka, the police released Pokharel. "There was an order from above to release us, we detained him for a day and released him on Saturday," said a police officer of the circle, "we released him after receiving an order from the Ministry of Energy."
According to the police source, the circle police officer informed the higher level about this incident. But Minister Khadka gave a strict order to the police not to take action against the person who abused him.
