Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party and former Home Minister, has to remain in judicial custody at least until Wednesday after the detention debate failed. Although Lamichhane's statement in the Kathmandu District Court in the case related to the misappropriation of Swarnalakshmi Sahakari's savings is over, the debate continues behind closed doors.

Lamichhane was sent to judicial custody by the bench of Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari of Kathmandu District Court after the debate ended. Since Tuesday is Maghe Sankranti and Maghi holiday, now the court will open only on Wednesday. Although the arguments on behalf of the public prosecutor's office ended on Tuesday, the arguments of the lawyers on the side of Lamichhane were not heard, so the arguments will be held again on Wednesday. Although some lawyers argued on behalf of Zaherwala, some arguments are still pending.

A case has been filed against Lamichhane in Kathmandu Kalimati district court in Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud. He appeared in court on Sunday morning. Lamichhane, who was released on bail from the Kaski District Court on Thursday in the Suryadarshan Sahakari case of Pokhara, came to Kathmandu and contacted the police on Friday.

In the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case, the Kaski District Court ordered the release of Lamichhane on a bond of 65 lakhs. With the order of the court, he was released from custody after 84 days.

Suprem Sahakari of Rupandehi, Sahara Chitwan of Chitwan and Sano Paila Sahakari of Parsa are also preparing to file a case against Lamichhane on fraud charges.
