Nepal ranks 101st in the world ranking of Passport Index

The Henley Passport Index, which is made public every year, has improved Nepal's level slightly over the previous year in the world rankings of the Passport Index. Nepal is ranked 101st in the world ranking of Passport Index of 2025 published by Henley. In 2024, Nepal was at the 103rd place.

It is to be remembered, when 'The Henley Passport Index' released the world ranking of passports for the first time in 2006, Nepal was ranked 76th. Nepal has reached the 101st position from 88th position in 2010, 90th position in 2014, 105th position in 2015 and 110th position in 2021.

Singapore and Japan are at the top of the passport index. Similarly, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Spain are in the list of top three . The neighboring country India, which was ranked 85th last year, is also at the same number this year.
In the lower ranking than Nepal, there are conflict countries from Somalia to Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. The Henley Passport Index ranks international air transport based on which countries do or do not grant visas.

Henley said the study was based on 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations. The Henley Passport Index, updated monthly, is itself considered a robust and reliable ranking. Old videos related to
