Let's increase the use of electric vehicles to reduce the effects of climate change: Deuba

Chairman of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the use of electric vehicles should be increased to reduce the effects of climate change.

He said this while addressing the program of the Department of Environment and Climate Change at the Party Central Office Sanepa on Friday. He said that although the use of electric vehicles cannot be increased only in Kathmandu Valley, it will be a great help in reducing the effects of climate change.

He said that climate change is having a big impact on the entire nation. He said that due to climate change, the snow is melting in the mountains of Nepal and the mountains are bare. He said that climate change is a very big problem in Nepal.

He said, 'Now this climate change in Nepal has caused problems in the entire nation and the entire world. It can cause a big problem in Nepal. This has increased the sea level. In addition, the mountains are becoming bare due to the melting of the snow in the mountains. Due to which climate change is causing a very big problem in Nepal today.'

He said that the most attention should be paid to climate change in Nepal. He said that the use of diesel and petrol should be reduced and charging stations for electric vehicles should be kept at every place.

He said, 'Therefore, in this regard, Nepal does not only want to, but Nepal can do a lot. The use of crop fuels, diesel, petrol is so much that it has caused many problems for us. From electric vehicles to many things, this climate change in Nepal has an impact. In Kathmandu, we were able to reduce crop fuel. Even if we are able to promote electric vehicles, a lot of great work can be done from Kathmandu. Charging stations for electric vehicles should be placed everywhere. It also reduces. We should increase it across the country. It is necessary to increase awareness about climate change all over the world. If we can save 60 percent of the forest, it will help a lot.

President Deuba said that the campaign to reduce the effects of climate change should be increased throughout the country.
