Handicraft sector is always a priority of the government: Prime Minister Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the handicrafts sector, which contributes to employment and export growth, will always be a priority of the government.  Addressing the opening ceremony of the 44th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Handicraft Association, Prime Minister Oli assured that the government will do its best to increase employment, production, entrepreneurship, confidence and exports in the country.

Prime Minister Oli said that the handicraft sector will never be displaced in the context of Nepal being rich in art and culture. He asked for an increase in the consumption of food and manufactured goods. Our country is famous for art. The arts here are priceless. Our views and art are decorated in them," Prime Minister Oli said, "Handicrafts have helped women's employment and skill development as well as social upliftment. Let's start exporting the goods produced from this area, I will call the General Assembly and discuss what should be done for the development of its various types. Based on that, we will do more work.'

Handicraft sector is always a priority of the government: Prime Minister Oli Prachanda Shakya, president of Mahasangh, welcomed the government's release of guidelines on making the use of indigenous products mandatory in public bodies and emphasized on its effective implementation. He drew Prime Minister Oli's attention to various points for export growth and facilitation.It is said that the handicrafts sector has directly and indirectly created 1.1 million jobs and exported goods worth about Rs. 11 billion.Best exporters and contributors were also honored in the program.
