Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a 'briefing' on Friday about the reform work and future plans of the Ministry of Water Supply.

In the discussion held at the Prime Minister's and Council of Ministers' office, Singhdarbar, Water Minister Pradeep Yadav and Secretary Pramiladevi Bajracharya informed about the current situation, progress, challenges in implementation and future plans of the ministry.  In the

discussion, information was given about the implementation status of the Melamchi water supply project, the current progress and the progress of other projects going on through the Project Implementation Directorate. Addressing the impact of climate change on drinking water sources, the ministry has demanded for the necessary budget as the focus of the ministry is on creating environment-friendly and sustainable plans.

During this, Prime Minister Oli instructed to start building an environment where the people can get clean, accessible and easy food and speed up the work by coordinating with the relevant ministries and agencies.

Minister Yadav said that while accelerating the water supply plan in rural and urban areas, the actions are being focused on the goal of providing clean drinking water to citizens across the country by 2030.
