During the five months from July to November of the current financial year, more than five and a half thousand absconding defendants have been arrested. According to the Police Headquarters, 5,846 absconding defendants have been arrested from across the country during this period.
Police Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Vishwa Adhikari informed that 5,846 absconding persons have been arrested and presented to the court for the execution of the verdict despite the court ruling and punishment for various crimes.
According to him, the court sentenced the defendants to a total of 1,968 years, 9 months, and 8 days in prison. Similarly, there was a court order to recover a total fine of 435 million 42 thousand 54 rupees from them.
