The Kaski police are discussing whether to arrest Ravi Lamichhane again and send him to Kathmandu or allow him to appear before the Kathmandu District Court. After the Kaski District Court ordered Lamichhane to be released on 6.5 million bail, the question of what will happen next has been raised.
A case of co-operative fraud has also been registered against Lamichhane in the Kathmandu District Court. According to a high source of the Kaski Police, consultation with the legal professionals has started .
'The district court here has already ordered the release on bail . A charge sheet has also been registered in Kathmandu. Now we are discussing with legal experts whether to arrest them from here and hand them over to Kathmandu or let them appear in the court themselves without being arrested,' said a senior officer of the Kaski Police. A case has been filed by making Lamichhane a defendant in the Swarnalakshmi cooperative fraud of Kathmandu.
Lamichhane has already started the process of paying bail in Kaski District Court. Lamichhane was asked for bail by District Court Kaski in the Cooperative Fraud, Organized Crime and Money Laundering case.
The Kaski District Court demanded bail from Lamichhane in the case of organized crime and money laundering along with the misappropriation of Suryadarshan Sahakari of Pokhara. Kaski District Court Judge Nitij Rai's bench has ordered Lamichhane to be released on bail of Rs 65 lakh.
Judge Rai's courtroom ended with the argument of the government lawyers on Thursday. Deputy Attorney Govindaraj Gowli of the High Public Prosecutor's Office and District Attorney Kamala Kafle of the District Public Prosecutor's Office argued on Thursday.
In Judge Rai's courtroom, since 16th of January, the seven defendants of the said case were being debated. After the debate of the legal professionals on behalf of the defendants, the legal professionals debated on behalf of the co-operative victims on Wednesday . There was a heated debate on former DIG Chabilal Joshi, Leela Pachai, Krishna Bahadur Gurung, Ram Bahadur Khanal and others in the money embezzlement case of the cooperative.
Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on 2nd October and taken to Kaski.
