Anil Kumar Pokharel, the former secretary of Public Accounts Committee Chairman Rishikesh Pokharel has been arrested. He was arrested by the police from Biratnagar on Thursday morning.

According to SP Narayan Chimoria, head of Morang District Police Office, Pokharel is accused of defrauding Boualal Chaudhary of Saptari for 38 lakh 80 thousand rupees for admission in MBBS. The victim Chaudhary is a resident of Agnisair Krishnaswaran rural municipality-5 Bakdhuwa of Saptari.

In this regard, the Morang District Court on Monday allowed the police to arrest Pokharel and investigate. After the arrest warrant was issued, Rishikesh Pokharel, chairman of the Audit Committee, expelled Anil from the post of personal secretary on 19th January.

SP Chimoria informed that Pokharel, who was arrested, will be submitted to the court today and permission will be taken to keep him in custody.
