Prime Minister's directive to bring immediate concrete plan for post-disaster reconstruction

The 15th meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management has instructed the National Authority for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to immediately come up with a solid plan for reconstruction after the West Nepal earthquake and monsoon disaster of 2081.

In accordance with the decision of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee meeting held today, the proposed topics of the plan were presented in a meeting held at the Prime Minister's Residence, Baluwatar under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Council Chairman KP Sharma Oli. A proposal was made in the meeting that if the detailed account of damage (DDA) is yet to be done, it should be done by the relevant ministry and the council should give it to the Ministry of Finance. Prime Minister Oli's Secretariat has informed that today's meeting has been postponed so that a concrete plan will be made based on the presented proposal and a decision will be taken by the council meeting on January 28. 

In the council, an estimate of 98 billion 650 million 29 thousand 68 rupees has been presented for the next three years in the areas of road bridges and transportation, government buildings and urban infrastructure, electricity, alternative energy and irrigation, private housing, and drinking water. The authority has prepared to start the process of reconstruction and strengthening of private housing in Doti earthquake (including Bajura, Bajhang) Panchat and to provide relief to the families of those who disappeared and died in the flood disaster of 2080. 

The government is preparing to announce about the reconstruction in the program of Earthquake Safety Day to be held on the 2nd of January. Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, Chief Ministers of various provinces, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal and others participated in the meeting.
