On Tuesday, 21-year-old Sushmita Khadka of Kageshwari Manohara-2 and 23-year-old Tek Bahadur Thapa of Okhaldhunga were staying at the hotel. The body of Khadka was found the next day, English New Year's Day, Wednesday, while the young man was missing.
After the young man disappeared after locking the door of the hotel from outside, the police was investigating on the suspicion of murder. They also gave an advance of Rs 3,000 to the hotel.
The hotel administration informed the police after the door of the room number 308 where the two were staying was not opened until late on Wednesday. Khadka was found dead when the door was opened in the presence of police officers and local public representatives. According to Tekraj Adhikari, ward member of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, foam was coming from the mouth of Khadka, who was found dead.
However, no injuries were visible on his body. Even the clothes he was wearing were not damaged. It looked like he was sleeping on the corner of the bed with his shoes on. Two empty cans of Red Bull were found in the room. According to the police, there seems to be phone contact and message exchange between them. However, the police could not find the girl's mobile phone.
The young man who went to the hotel with the girl came to Kathmandu from Japan in the first week of January. Earlier, the girl was also studying Japanese language in the same place where the young man had studied. Family sources said that they had a love relationship since 3 years ago. Although both the families were informed about the marriage, it is said that the relationship between the young man and the young woman has deteriorated in recent days.
District Police Complex Information Officer Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari informed that the investigation is ongoing in coordination with the relatives of the deceased. However, the police has not officially released any information about the young man who was found dead. The girl's family filed a complaint against the young man.
