Tribute to former US President Carter by Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba expressed deep sorrow over the death of former American President Jimmy Carter and paid tribute to him.

On Friday, Minister Rana reached the American Embassy in Kathmandu and signed the condolence book kept there in memory of former American President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Carter.

Jimmy Carter, the former president and founder of the Carter Center, died on December 29 at the age of 100. Foreign Minister Rana has remembered former President Carter as a democratic leader and a true friend of Nepal. He  In her condolence message, she said, 'Former President Carter was an exemplary personality in the field of charity, peace and democracy. As the President of the United States as well as the founder of the Carter Center, the role he played in favor of human rights and democratic values ​​is widely appreciated.

Recalling Carter's visit to Nepal in 2007 and 2013 during the election of the Constituent Assembly in Nepal, Foreign Minister Rana mentioned that Carter was always in favor of peace and democracy in Nepal as a true friend and well-wisher of Nepal.
