Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal President Upendra Yadav has said that the Constitution should be amended by forming a commission with constitutional experts. In a press conference organized by the Journalist Association of Nepal here today, he mentioned that the constitution should be amended through the consensus and coordination of all based on the suggestions received from the constitutional experts.
President Yadav was of the view that the constitution should not be amended to reduce proportional inclusive representation. He said, 'There is a need to make amendments only with the consent and coordination of all in order to strengthen federalism, republicanism and inclusiveness so that everyone can adopt them.'
President Yadav, who is also a former deputy prime minister, said that the growing political instability in the country has increased the risk of losing the achievements made through long struggle and sacrifice. He said, 'If the achievements achieved in the form of republic and federalism cannot be institutionalized, it cannot be said that the changes made in the year 2007 will not be lost in the year 2017. Therefore, it is necessary for everyone to unite to institutionalize the achievement. In the press conference held under the chairmanship of Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Central President of Journalist Association of Nepal, JSP Nepal's Central Secretary and Deputy Chief of Nepalganj Sub-Metropolis Kamruddin Rai, local leaders and other media persons were present.
