Former Vice President Nanda Bahadur has again attended the meeting of the Standing Committee of CPN-Maoist Center. The former vice president again participated in the standing committee meeting that started on Thursday at the central office Parisdanda to prepare for the central committee meeting that will begin on January 21.

The Maoist center has also made preparations to make Pun the vice president. Pun himself is also saying that he has joined active politics and that he has no doubts about it. He was a confidant of President Pushpa Kamal Dahal before becoming Vice President.

It is said that Dahal is trying to give responsibility to Pun because he will strengthen his side in the leadership group by bringing him into the party. Nanda Bahadur, who has been the vice president for two terms, has started to be active in party politics again. Recently, he has been participating as an invited leader in the meeting of Maoist officials.

Former Vice President again attended the Maoist Standing Committee meeting Nanda Bahadur Pun, Varshman Pun, Janardhan Sharma and Chandradev Khanal were deputy commanders of Maoist fighters during the armed conflict. Born in Rangsi Rolpa on 7th October 2022, Nanda Bahadur again contested from Kathmandu Region No. 4 in the second Constituent Assembly election held in 2070 but was defeated by Gagan Thapa of Congress.

He was the Vice President from November 2072 to March 2079. In March 2079, Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav was elected as the Vice President and Pun's tenure ended. Since then, he has not participated in any political program for a year and a half.

There is no constitutional or legal restriction for former presidents or former vice presidents to be active in political parties. But political analysts say that people who have reached the highest position of the state will be active in a particular party again, it is a matter connected with the morals and sense of responsibility of the person.
