After the ruling Congress and UML started their homework on amending the constitution, the Madhesh-centric parties have also started coming closer. The Madhesh-centric parties have begun to discuss with suspicion whether the political and constitutional achievements gained from the previous movement will be lost when the two major parties come together to revise the constitution.

The leaders of the Madhesh-centric party, divided into pieces, appeared on the same stage on Tuesday after a long time. All of them have said that due to the amendment of the constitution, there is a situation where unity, cooperation or front blocking is necessary to prevent the loss of achievements.

In the program organized by the Madheshi Ekta Samaj Sanstha, the leaders commented that the big parties are trying to cover the opportunity of the parties in favor of inclusion being divided and weak. They also said that the two major parties are trying to remove the system of proportional and inclusive representation by revising the electoral system.

Rashtriya Mukti Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato mentioned that three leaders of three parties brought together a racist constitution in 2072 and expressed his suspicion that the proposed amendment would be more racist. He says that there is no alternative to unite forces including Madhesi, tribals and tribes to stop it.

Janata Pragatisheel Party President Hridayesh Tripathi proposed a flexible alliance between Madhesh-centric parties. "We tried to unite many times, but nothing was successful. The parties were divided due to opportunistic character," he said. "Let's not talk about unity now. But let's cooperate to face the challenges that have come before us.''

Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Vice President Rajkishore Yadav said that Madhesh-centric parties have to come together in one place. He said that his party is ready for that. Democratic Samajwadi Party leader Anil Jha also said that if the Madhesi power is not united, there is a danger of losing the achievements. Sharadsingh Yadav, the leader and spokesperson of the Janmat Party, said that since the amendment of the constitution is seen to be against Madhesh, cooperation is necessary to stop it.

General Secretary of Janata Samajwadi Party Istiyak Rai stated that now is not the time for accusations and counter-accusations between themselves and emphasized that the parties should come together in view of the issue. Amresh Kumar Singh, an independent member of the House of Representatives, mentioned that sacrifice and integrity have been lost in Madhesh politics. He said that the Madhesh-centric parties ended Madheshism due to familyism and authoritarianism. In the event, civil society representatives also said that cooperation between Madhesh-centric parties is necessary.
