The 18th edition of the military exercise, which has been taking place between Nepal and India for a long time with the aim of achieving common security objectives and expanding bilateral relations, will be held on the anniversary of Rupandehi from Persi Mangal.

The battalion-level joint military exercise named 'Suriya Kiran' will focus on enhancing military capabilities in challenging situations including jungle warfare, operations against terrorism in geographically difficult areas, peacekeeping in accordance with the United Nations Charter, humanitarian aid disaster management and relief operations, internal capacity expansion, environmental protection. 

Srijung Battalion of Nepali Army and 11th Gorkha Rifles of Indian Army will participate in the training which will continue till 29th of January. According to Gaurav Kumar KC, spokesperson of the Nepali Army, through this exercise, the friendship, trust and common cultural relations between Nepal and India will be further expanded and the cooperation and cooperation of the professional forces of the two countries will be further strengthened. 

The 17th series of the exercise, which is held annually in Nepal and India alternately from 2067, was held in Pithoragarh, India last year.  So far, 4,215 soldiers of the Nepali Army and 4,442 soldiers of the Indian Army have participated in this exercise.
