The Samajwadi Front, which was used as a weapon to maintain power by Maoist Chairman and then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has become inactive. After reaching the Maoist and Unified Socialist Opposition, no activities have been done through the Front.

Samajwadi Morcha was announced in June 2080, consisting of the then ruling Maoists, Unified Socialists, Janata Samajwadi Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal outside Parliament. The Nepal Samajwadi Party led by Mahendra Rai Yadav was later added to the front.

After the party split last May, Jaspa has left Nepal Morcha. While in the government, Prachandaji promoted the Samajwadi Front as a weapon of power. He said that even if there is a front now, he will form a party in the future. Now they don't want to take the name of the front," said one of the leaders of the party in the front. 

Although it was announced that the Morcha was created to build a peaceful, just and inclusive society by guaranteeing people's civil and political rights as well as economic, social and cultural rights, the strategy of Maoist Chairman Dahal was to put pressure on the then ruling Congress through the Morcha.

At that time, the number of MPs of the front party in the House of Representatives was 54. The policy of putting pressure on the streets by the CPN, which is outside the parliament, was adopted. Leaders such as Chairman of Maoist Dahal, Chairman of United Socialist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary of CPN Netra Vikram Chand and others addressed the meeting held in seven provinces of Morcha. They said at that time that they formed a front to prepare the basis of the socialist revolution. 

With the main objective of building the basis of socialism with Nepali characteristics, a report was made with procedures to form the front at the central, state, district and local levels. The draft prepared by the working group of four party leaders is stalled.

In the meantime, CPN General Secretary Netra Vikram Chand, who is the coordinator of the Morcha, requested Maoist Chairman Dahal and Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal to activate the Morcha. But they are not interested in it. The central committee meeting of the CPN led by Chand last week has decided to activate the front.

Maoist General Secretary Dev Gurung said that because the parties were busy with their own party work, the activities of the Morcha could not take place. Since the parties in the front are in their own programs, we have not been able to gather together and consult. Due to busyness, the procedure has not been finalised,' he said, 'There is no disagreement on making the Socialist Front active.'

CPN spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma said that due to the split of the Janata Samajwadi Party and the inactivity of the larger party, the Maoists, the front has become lax.

After problems arose between the parties participating in the coalition government, cooperation and harmony were affected. There was no reason for Jaspa to leave the Nepal Morcha," he said. "Maoist is responsible for the weakening of the Morcha." "We will advance the front, make it effective," he said. 

CPN has made a decision at the central committee meeting that if party unity is not possible immediately, the policy of blocking the front should be adopted. "Unify in such a way as to support the development of ideas, to build a new base and to advance the revolution," said the decision of the CPN, "We should emphasize on activating the Socialist Front and connecting other parties." The meeting concluded that various alliances and fronts formed in the past used their party. Integrated Socialists have decided to cooperate only on the basis of political programs. "Now it should be clear to itself that there will be no alliance other than cooperation, front or unity based on integrated socialist concrete political programs," the report passed by the Standing Committee meeting said.

Beduram Bhusal, the vice president of the United Samajwadi Party, said that the affiliated party's opinion is that the Samajwadi Front should be activated. According to him, the activities of the Front were intense during the time of the Maoist and Unified Socialist government, but the main reason for the stagnation after joining the opposition is that the parties became focused on their own organizations. We believe that the socialist front should be made active. But we moved on to the convention and then the organization. Maoists also started their own plans. We were also busy with the by-elections at the local level," he said.
