Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai has said that the educational programs in Nepal have not been made to match the needs of the enterprise sector and the market.
Addressing the 50th convocation ceremony organized by Tribhuvan University on Saturday, Minister Bhattarai said that issues such as the limitation of physical infrastructure, lack of ease in manpower management, insufficient library, laboratory and inability to prioritize courses and subjects according to the demands of students have become obstacles to the development of the university.
Minister Bhattarai also said that students lack practical knowledge and employment opportunities. "University graduates lack practical knowledge and employment opportunities." Even after obtaining the degree, the students are not able to get opportunities in the country . The trend of going abroad for education and employment has become a matter of national interest, making foreign countries the first choice,' Minister Bhattarai said, 'In such a situation, our educational programs have not been made to match the needs of the enterprise sector and the market.'
Minister Bhattarai also said that the university is doing research work through the research center to contribute to knowledge, innovation and development. He said that although the university has many achievements, there are some challenges and they should be able to face them and make practical efforts to solve them.
