Nepal Communist Party (UML) has fixed the date of the central committee meeting. UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed that the secretariat meeting held today at the UML Central Office in Chaisal, Lalitpur has scheduled the 8th Central Committee meeting on the 20th and 21st of December.
According to leader Gyawali, in the central committee meeting, political report, information about organizational work, approval of the decisions made by the secretariat, standing committee and politburo meeting in the past and contemporary political issues have been fixed. The
meeting concluded that it expressed satisfaction with the work done by the government for five months in collaboration with the Nepali Congress.
Deputy Secretary General Gyawali said that after the formation of the government, there has been a positive improvement in the economy. He said that the Transitional Justice Bill has been passed and is in the process of becoming a law and becoming a commission.
Working group to be formed to amend the constitution
The meeting decided to form a working group consisting of Nepali Congress and UML leaders to review and amend the constitution, UML Deputy Secretary General Gyawali informed.
'We will review the implementation of the constitution and federalism as a whole. And within that, how many of the work expansion suggestions have been implemented or not. It will also be reviewed where and how much the experts have been transferred', Deputy Secretary General Gyawali said.
In this meeting, it was also decided to form a working group consisting of four officials from the two parties in order to quickly finalize the pending bills in the parliament. He said that it was also agreed to make a calendar to end the situation of the bill being stuck in the parliament for a long time.
In terms of good governance and accountability, the government has also agreed to establish a good governance reform center in the Prime Minister's and Council of Ministers' offices and ministries.
It has been concluded that progress has been made in the operation of the government's external relations. He said that the recent 'Belt and Road Initiative' (BRI) agreement with China is important.
As recommended by the parliamentary investigation committee, the meeting concluded that the government has taken action against the irregularities that have appeared in the cooperative sector. He said that the government will soon create an empowered cooperative authority by bringing an ordinance and form a strong foundation to end the tyranny of cooperatives.
The meeting concluded that progress in economic activities has started to appear in various development works including energy trade with Bangladesh, international airport in Bhairahawa. He said that the recent 17 percent improvement in revenue collection has confirmed that the expansion of the country has begun. The meeting decided to make the political mechanism between Congress and UML more effective.
