The statements of the defendants, including the President of the People's Democratic Party, Lamichhane, are starting in court

The testimony of five defendants, including the president of the National Independent Party and former home minister Ravi Lamichhane, accused of co-operative fraud, will begin in the district court in Kaski from today.

Earlier on Sunday, the District Public Prosecutor's office, Kaski filed a case against 31 people including Lamichhane in cooperative fraud. A case has also been filed against Lamichhane for cooperative fraud and organized crime and money laundering. 

District Court Kaski information officer Suraj Adhikari informed that the statements of the five defendants who were brought to the court including Lamichhane, Chabilal Joshi will begin. He said, "The defendants' statements will begin after the session is concluded through Gola, and only after the statements are finished, the arrest order will be issued," he said. The public prosecutor's office has said that a case has been filed against 63 people in the District Court of Kaski in the money fraud case of Suryadarshan Sahakari of Pokhara. 

19 people including Lamichhane have been prosecuted for organized crime  District Public Prosecutor's Office, Kaski Assistant District Attorney Shantidevi Sharma informed. He said that a case has been filed against Ram Bahadur Khanal, Chabilal Joshi and Leela Pachai along with Lamichhane.  

A case has been registered against Lamichhane with a false claim of Rs. A case of money laundering has been filed against Chabilal Joshi claiming more than 74 crore 34 lakh 71 thousand rupees. Assistant District Attorney Sharma informed that the defendant Khanal has 143 million 91 thousand 911 rupees and the latter has 24 million 67 million seven thousand 24 rupees.

Lamichhane has been asked to pay three crore 37 lakh 65 thousand rupees, Rs 5 crore 26 lakh 65 thousand rupees against Joshi and Rs 2 crore 14 lakh eight thousand eight hundred and forty three rupees from Dipesh Pun. The public prosecutor's office said that a case has also been registered against other people accused of co-operative fraud with a demand for punishment and punishment.

President Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on October 2 last on the charge of embezzling the savings of the cooperative. He is being investigated for co-operative fraud in other districts including Kaski. GB Rai, the main planner of the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud, and other accused are still absconding.
