Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the new tourism policy has reached its final stage.

Talking to the journalists here today, he said, 'After the country went into a federal structure, no new tourism policy was made. The draft of the new policy has reached its final stage. This matter is being discussed with stakeholders.' He said that preparations are being made to make a law along with the tourism policy. 

Although the government announced the Decade of Tourism in 2022, he said that the ministry has made preparations to celebrate the Decade of Tourism from 2025 to 2035 by making an action plan. 

He said, 'The second meeting of the thematic committee has already been held in the ministry. The said committee discussed how to transform the tourism sector, how to increase the potential of the tourism sector, how to create jobs through this, and how to contribute to the country's economy.

Mentioning that the Ministry has moved on the path of policy reforms, Minister Pandey said that it will take some time to see the results. 

He mentioned that two bills of Nepal Aviation Authority have reached the Council of Ministers so that the service provider body and the regulatory body will remain separate in the civil aviation sector. 

He informed that work is also being done to solve the problems seen in Nepal Airlines. While only one TwinOtter of Nepal Airlines is flying, there are seven TwinOtters in seven provinces  He said that work is going on to operate.
