Monkeypox infection has been seen again in Nepal. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, the infection was confirmed in a 36-year-old man from Tanahun.
"He returned from Saudi Arabia on Thursday and was tested at the National Public Health Laboratory," he said, "now his condition is normal." He is being treated in 'isolation' at Shukraraj Hospital.
Even two years ago, monkeypox infection was seen in a foreigner who came to Nepal. Spokesperson Budhathoki said that the government has instructed health decks at border crossings and Tribhuvan International Airport to be alert after monkeypox infection was detected.
