Independent MP Amresh Kumar Singh has said that trade unions formed among government employees should be abolished. He said that it is not right for the government employees who get their salary from the taxes paid by the people to open a trade union.
In Thursday's meeting of the Public Order and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives, MP Singh said that the trade unions of civil servants should be abolished while presenting his opinion as an amendment on the bill made to regulate the formation, operation and conditions of service of the federal civil service. 'Labour unions should be abolished . Eating the government's salary will not form a union, doing so will lead to chaos,' he said . He also said that the Hull Employees' Union of Hull came to help in the election and asked them to make a law that suits them.
Singh said that if civil servants are allowed to open a union, it can also be opened in Nepali army and police organizations. Singh's argument was that the question may arise as to why those working in security organizations who are government employees should not be allowed to open a union.
MP Singh's proposal is that there should be a legal system that employees must work in the same office where they are posted. He said that there should be no arrangement for the employees to stay in Kathmandu for work without going to the district where there are vacancies.
Singh also says that a certain time should be kept for those who retired from the staff to take any constitutional or government and foreign appointment. He said, 'There should be a cooling period for employees to be appointed in the country or abroad. If you are appointed like that, the pension should be stopped,' he said.
Singh has proposed that even those who do not live in the country after retiring from service should not be given pension. Similarly, he also said that if he has less than 1 year to retire, he should not be promoted to a higher position.
