Thani said to Chairman Khatiwada - Pressure may come from above, keep your foot down

The State System and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives has submitted a report to the sub-committee formed to finalize the bill related to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the amendment of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Hridayram Thani, the coordinator of the sub-committee and Congress MP, conveyed it to the chairman of the committee, Ramhari Khatiwada.

Sub-committee coordinator Thani has submitted a report to committee chairman Khatiwada at the meeting of the state affairs committee on Wednesday. The sub-committee submitted the report prepared based on the consensus reached on the bill to amend the Corruption Prevention Act, 2059 and the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission Act. While submitting the

report, sub-committee coordinator Thani suggested to Chairman Khatiwada to present the amendments to the law to be passed by the committee. Thani said that there will be pressure due to the new provisions that have been amended in the bill and we should move forward regardless of the pressure.

'I want to request the Speaker, there will definitely be pressure when such bills come. There can be pressure from the top level that this can be done or not done,' said Thani, 'I want to tell the chairman because I have worked hard as the coordinator of the sub-committee.

Thani said that there is a provision in the Abuse of Authority Act that the decisions made by the Council of Ministers can be investigated. He said that through the amendment, strict arrangements have been made to control corruption in the country. "There was a situation where the people were questioning whether the decisions made in the Council of Ministers were not in the interest of the people. We have tried to bring it under the jurisdiction of the authority," he said. We have passed such important things .'

Thani insisted that the report passed unanimously by the sub-committee should be forwarded as the committee will discuss the arrangements made in the bill.

Thani said that the chairman of the committee should stand firm in the future as well, recalling the provision that the person who files a complaint against someone in the authority must show evidence and confirm that the person against whom the complaint is filed is not illegal. Recalling his work as the Chairman of the State Administration Committee in 2059, Chairman Thani said, 'What was the special provision of that Act, the one who filed a complaint had to show that the details of that property are more . By radically changing it, we have arranged for the one who has received a complaint to give his property for sale . That was a revolutionary decision .'

Even now, Thani has asked Speaker Khatiwada to stand in his favor as new provisions have been made through amendments to establish a good system and good governance in the Act.
