Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the National Independent Party and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, has given a statement that he is linked to organized crime and money laundering crimes by keeping political bias.
Lamichhane, who is in the custody of the Kaski District Police, has also claimed that he was not involved in cooperative fraud in any way during the statement.
Lamichhane's statement is contained in the investigation report submitted by the Kaski police to the district attorney's office in Kaski. In that statement, Lamichhane said, 'I think it is only political bias to associate a person who is not involved in any way in the misappropriation of funds and fraudulent activities of the cooperative in organized crime and money laundering. I am not/was not involved in these crimes in any way.' The statement does not mention who added such prejudice.
Lamichhane further said, 'I entered the Gorkha Media Network as an employee and received 15 percent of the shares provided by the investor for free and did my job according to my position and the services, facilities and salary provided by Gorkha Media.'
Lamichhane has made a statement that it is clear in the report of the parliamentary inquiry committee that he is not involved in cooperative fraud. "It has been clearly revealed in the report submitted by the special parliamentary investigation committee that I was not involved in misappropriating the funds of the cooperative," said Lamichhane in his statement to the police.
