The website of the Weather Forecast Division under the Department of Water and Meteorology has been hacked. The 'CaptainSmoker' hacking group, which previously hacked the websites of the Election Commission and the Far West government, has taken control of the department's website.

Dinkar Kayastha, information officer of the Water and Meteorological Department, said that the department's website, which was open till Sunday, was hacked on Monday morning. "Since it is complete, it has been accessed by hackers because the security management is a little weak," he said.

A black and white gif of the water splashing on the weather website is now visible . It mentions that the hacking group CaptainSmoke has gained access to the CPAN, SMPT, database. The group has placed a harmful link on the website asking to join the Telegram channel .

"Our IT team is looking into it," Kayasth said, "We are hoping to recover soon." The backup of the database of the website is safe with us. He suggested not to click on the link given on the website.
