The funeral of PL Singh, the former mayor of Kathmandu metropolis, has been held. Singh was cremated at Kankeshwari Ghat near Dallun a while ago. Deputy Prime Minister and former Congress Vice President Prakashman Singh draped the party flag on Singh's body.

Former chief Singh died this morning at the age of 88. Lately, he was living in Thamel Chaksibari with treatment. Singh, who is also a former minister, underwent stomach surgery last year due to stomach ulcer.

Singh, who was born on Chait 11, 1996, was elected as the head of Kathmandu municipality in the local elections held in 2049. During his tenure, the municipality was declared a metropolitan municipality on 29th of November 2052.

KAMPA expressed its respect for Swa Singh's death and today closed the central office and all the subordinate ward offices except for essential services and granted a mourning leave.
