A selection and recommendation committee has been formed to appoint the future vice-chancellor in Kathmandu University. Vice-Chancellor Bhola Thapa informed that the university meeting held on Saturday decided to form the committee. Thapa's tenure is ending on January 6.
The meeting attended by Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli formed a committee chaired by former Vice-Chancellor Suresh Raj Sharma.
There is a provision in the university act that the assembly will form a committee and the vice chancellor will be appointed for a 4-year term by the chancellor as recommended. Dr. Arjun Karki, former vice-chancellor of Patan Institute of Health Sciences, and Jarnadan Nepal, former secretary, are members of the committee.
