The support of the Standing Committee members in the political report submitted by General Secretary Bhusal with the opinion that there should be no unity with the Maoist Center.
A political report has been submitted with the opinion that there should be no unification with the Maoist Center in the United Socialist Party. The leaders who spoke at the standing committee meeting that started on Friday also opined that the party should not go for unity with the Maoists until it is strong.
There have been several discussions at the top level for party unity between the Maoists and the Unified Socialists. Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and United Socialists Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal discussed in their respective teams and decided to form the Unity Coordination Committee.
In the political report submitted by General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal in the Standing Committee meeting, it is mentioned that left unity is practically not possible.
"In theory, left unity is the need of the day, but practically it is not possible now," the report says, "Our initiative to build a party from the movement will intensify the revolutionary polarization." People, groups and parties who are similar in the aims, demands and form of the movement will stand together and the process of left and communist unity will advance.
Bhusal has given the example of UML-Maoist unity, stating that unity will fail only on top. "The unity, conflict and division between the UML and the Maoists in 2075 has shown that unity due to the selfishness of some people in the leadership is not reliable," he wrote in the report, "we will have to learn a lot from that incident." It has been concluded that due to the widespread frustration in the party, there was a problem when trying to get closer to the Maoists and the UML.
Tendencies such as despair, depression, confusion, escape, passivity have been observed. As a result, some of them are trying to get closer to the UML, others are trying to get closer to the Maoists and there is a generally confused tendency," the report said. "Only a clear political plan of party building can solve this. If the party line is not unified through open discussion, the party cannot gain momentum.'
'UML and Maoists coming together, getting nearly two-thirds of the seats in the parliament, and the party's unity and the party's holding the socialist direction brought forward extraordinary possibilities in the communist movement. The report says, "But the unity of the party based on the self-interest of making a bigger party than the future of the communist movement did not give results." In 2075, the CPN was split before three and a half years of uniting the party. While speaking on the report, the leaders said that the party will merge if they unite with the Maoists. They say that the organization is weakening in the name of unity with the Maoists. The standing committee members have supported the report saying that party unity failed in the past when it focused on power interests rather than on theoretical and ideological basis.
Jagannath Khatiwada, Vice President and Head of Propaganda Department of United Socialist Party, said in the meeting that it is not appropriate to unite with any party including Maoists. We have been cooperating with Congress, UML and Maoists. But the national party could not be formed," he said. "Now we have to stand on our own feet and move forward. We have come a long way from unity with the Maoists.
Samajwadi Morcha was formed under the force of Maoist President Pushpa Kamal Dahal when there was a coalition government of parties including Congress, Maoists, and Unified Socialists. To strengthen himself in the alliance, Dahal formed a front with Maoists, United Socialists and Jaspa Nepal.
The process of unity with the integrated socialists was carried out. After the collapse of that alliance, there was no discussion about party unity. General Secretary of the Maoist Center Dev Gurung said that there is no further progress for unity with the Unified Socialists. "There has been no significant progress for unity," he said.
Standing Committee member Vijay Paudel said that the idea that the party unity for the self-interest of the leader will not last long was that the leaders should create a program centered on the people. "Party will not be formed by uniting because of the leader's self-interest. That's why everyone is emphasizing on creating a program that connects with the people," he said.
General Secretary Bhusal has mentioned in the report that it is dangerous to go to the election with an alliance. The upcoming general election is important for us. We should keep the elections within the program of the movement and move forward. Now we can't even think of going to the election based on the alliance," the report says, "We have already experienced the consequences of the alliance. Secondly, because of the alliance, the politics of Nepal is getting discredited. The alliance demonizes the revolutionary party ideologically.' Despite the alliance with Congress and Maoists in the last general election, the unified Socialist National could not be formed. There are 10 members of the United Socialist Party in the House of Representatives. Maoists were integrated participants in the Chairman Dahal-led government. The Congress and the Maoists have used themselves as a conclusion of the Unified Socialists.
"It should be clear to itself that there will be no coalition other than cooperation, front or unity based on a unified socialist solid political program," the report said.
