In 2018, CIB started investigating Prasain in the crime of threatening businessmen and businessmen of Nepal using the name of Lawrence Vishnoi, an Indian goon who came into the limelight for threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. CIB has already arrested Harichandra Phuyal of Jhapa Mechinagar on 14th November for this crime.
According to CIB, during the statement, Harichandra not only said that he was threatened by the businessman, but the police also gave proof of the exchange of documents and audio of the conversation between the two on his phone. According to CIB sources, audio records found on Prasain's mobile confirm his involvement. CIB spokesperson SP Hobindra Bogti said that so far three or four businessmen have filed a complaint saying that Lawrence Vishnoi's name has been threatened and they are also collecting information about other businessmen who have received such threats.
