Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that his party's focus is on how to fulfill the development wishes of the people.

Speaking to reporters in Chitwan on Tuesday, President Dahal said that the Maoist Center's focus is not on changing the government, but on how to fulfill the development aspirations of the people. 

'Our focus is not on the government. Our focus is on the people. It is towards mobilizing the people. We will continue to monitor the work of the government,' said Dahal. On a different occasion, he said that the Chinese development project Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is in the interest of Nepal. He says that since China and the US are seen as the main competitors, it is natural for the two strategies to be interested in each other's issues.
